Top Chef Masters B-Hive Party Tips

Party Ideas

While you and your friends watch Top Chef Masters, turn up the fun with these tips and games.

Top Chef Masters Drinking Game
Set up a drinking game for you and your guests based on trends you see in the episodes. For example, every time a charity is mentioned, a judge laughs, a chef curses, etc, you drink! Under 21? Hate alcohol? Check out this fabulous recipe from Top Chef Season 5’s Carla for non-alcoholic refreshment.

Get Pot-Lucky
Invite each partygoer to bring a home-cooked dish. At the end of the night, ask them to vote for their favorite. Give the winner the title of Top Chef Master, and upload a photo of the winning dish here (along with other party photos) for all Top Chef Masters fans to see.

Recipe Scrapbook
Ask each guest to bring a favorite recipe to your first B-Hive party, with enough copies for everyone at the party. Purchase binders before the party and create a cover sheet as a memento of the night. Then collect all the recipes and give them as a party favor. Challenge each guest to cook one recipe (not their own) for your B-Hive parties in coming weeks.

Taste Test
A classic Top Chef foodie challenge: Blindfold each guest and ask them to taste two versions of one ingredient -- one high quality, one lower quality. See if they can identify the more expensive one. At the end of the night, the guest with the most correct answers gets to take home the remaining high-quality ingredients. (The person with the lowest score gets stuck with the low-quality ingredients.)

"Dessert" Island
Put a wide variety of foods into a hat and have each person choose two. Make them decide which of the two they would rather eat for all eternity. Then ask them to bring a dish made with that food to your next B-Hive party.

Make Wednesday Sundae!
Create a make- your-own-sundae bar. You provide the ice cream. Then have each guest bring their own topping. Partygoers vote for the best (or most creative) topping. The winner gets to take home all the leftovers.

Got Skills?
Challenge your guests to a Quickfire Challenge that will test their culinary imagination. Give them random ingredients (pre-chopped, so no one gets hurt) and see how fast they can make an original salad, create a tempting dessert, put together an appetizer, etc. Time them and taste the results to name your winner!
