Jacqui had a great vision when she opened Eclectic salon to get like-minded stylists together and offer the best services they could. The vision was for Eclectic to be just that Eclectic (a person who derives ideas style or taste from a broad and diverse range) and in the beginning it was. Jacqui and André were the hot stylists and the salon was “THE SALON." In fact, Kim Kimble had attended classes that were given by both when she was starting her career.

Somewhere along the way Jacqui lost her vision and her passion and let things go and that’s when her financial problems truly set in, and the staff starting performing their circus act.

It was amazing to me that all the staff agreed that Jacqui seemed despondent and she herself said she couldn’t spend more than a couple of days in the salon, but no one knew the financial crisis she was going through they were all in their own little worlds and thought the salon was going fine.

Help my mom!!! I'm 23 and it's only my mom and I, and the family jewelry bussiness and a small town in Lemoore, Ca. She still runs her business with out even a computure! No matter how hard I try to teach here. She won't listen and is stuck in the past. Not to mention she hasn't renvaitied it in about thirty years. It still looks the same way it did the day my mom bought the bussiness from my grandma. Please help my mom and I in our bussiness so I can move foward with my life and she may come out of the past.

helpme, iwould love for you to come to my salon it is three months old. i had a another salon and it did ok. i move to this location because its the best location in town. i am a workaholic i will work anytime to please my guest i stay up with the latest in the bussiness i go to every class i can go to i fell this is my art not my job . my salon is a little old house fix up very unique. i know you would love it . but my problems are there are 900 salon in our little town .not enough quality hair dresser . i know i not the best business operator and i let people work without paying me . i need goodhairdresser. you would think i was looking for a astronaut. i know you wouldn'nt come to alittle in lexington ky but i thought i would try i'm goning down with out really getting started thank anyway susie beam

Where are you? I look forward to watching your show. It was/is such an uplifting show. I can't find your show. I am sick and tired of shows that have no purpose. I know the world is changing, I am in my sixtys and have no intrest in those reality shows. I watch HG shows, some judge shows, Holmes & holmes, 48hours and Wendy Williams and of coarse your show. All the above shows give people faith, hope and charity. Your show give/gave all three. Please get a regular time slot, you deserve it.I do not watch shows that show people down and out. I see it all around me each & every day. I raised 3 children 40 years ago and we were confortable. When I get my SS check and pay rent, medicine,phone, light bill and cable. I have $75.00 left for food. But I still know that I am blessed. Faith and inspiring shows do help people know that they can make it through these difficult times.

I love your show. You are a very talented woman. I have a question for you..I have spiral curls and have, in the last 2 years, been getting perms with large rollers to kind of straighten it out a bit. I would like it to be a darker brown. Is perming and coloring to much? I don't want to end up looking like I stuck my finger in a socket. Not everyone wants the BIG Texas hair. Thank you!

I sure wish she would come to my town. Not ONE STYLIST KNOWS HOW TO DO A SIMPLE LAYER CUT. I come home looking like a went thru a dull buzz saw. And it makes me so mad to pay (with tip) $60.00 for a cut and the person does not know how to cut hair,but acts like they are the experts and I'm just a customer.A SIMPLE LAYER CUT AND IT IS HARD TO FIND A STYLIST WHO KNOWS HOW TO DO THIS CUT. Tabatha ,please come to my town and kick some butts at their school.We have two and the stylist seem to come out of there getting worse and worse.

I want to thank you for this show and the Eclectic episode in particular. I worked as an IT Manager in Technical Support for a international company and hated it. I was suddenly laid off my from job last week. I felt horrible, but have had the pleasure of watching your shows in the past and the Eclectic episode came on the day I was laid off.

This episode inspired me to finally stop working "jobs" and get a career I could love -- as a stylist. I have always been interested in hair styling and beauty, but felt that I needed to get a "safe" job.
I now realize that the only "safe" job is one that you love and for which you have a passion.

I am signing up to attend a local beauty school and am looking for a new job as a receptionist/assistant at a local shop, so I can get on the job training, along with formal training.

I truly this new path and happiness in my life to you and your show. I also watched the competition show you were a part of previously, and your talent is amazing. You are an inspiration to any and everyone in the industry.

Thank you again. Your show literally saved my life. I am a Black woman and I don't care if your skin was green and you came from Saturn, you have the skill, talent, ability and personality to turn ANY salon around.

I don't believe hair comes in "races", it comes in textures and types, and to be a superior stylist, you must approach any and all hair that way.

Thank you for also showing that and showing you have what i takes to take on ANY failing salon and turn it around. Kudos to you!

P.S. I TIVO'ed the Eclectic episode, still have it saved, and STILL cry every time Jacqui speaks with her team about the financial issues.

I also noticed Lauren rolled her eyes during that scene and she would have been fired by me that day at that moment. Even though I am not a stylist, I have been a manager for many years and don't play that mess!

When I saw this episode - I said , "FINALLY!!!...a black salon"...then I said.."Does Tabatha know anything about black hair?"

I was not disappointed. I loved that Tabatha brought in Kim Kimble, acknowledging that she didn't know as much about black hair - it told me Tabatha is the real deal and not "BRAVO-ized".

I also found it refreshing that there was no drama between the stylists!!!..for once, everyone really was a team - they just needed their mojo back!

The scene when Jacquie opens up to her staff was heart-breaking ... and it looked as if Tabatha got choked up too. You could see they all really loved Jacquie....except for Lauren - whom I'm glad got fired.

I am rooting for Jacquie and her team - and I look forward to more of this show - its awesome.

This is my favorite show on TV now! I wish they would do more than about 6 episodes a season, maybe like 30. Tabitha is great and also knows her limitations. As in this past week where she brought in a Black stylist to evaluate the stylists in the Eclectic Salon. Unfortunately, Kim didn't really say much to evaluate their work as Tabitha did most of the talking.
And it does take someone specifically trained in Black hair to cut, perm and style it. They may learn it bit of it in school, but most Black stylists are Black and learned it all at home growing up. Keep on busting their B!@(@ Tabitha!

I just have to ask! Where did the staff at Eclectic get those great Salon T-shirts for the grand re-opening? We just loved them. Show is a lot of fun. It's our Wed. morning water cooler talk.

Great Job! My husband even likes your show..He was working in a salon the other day, (he is a service technician) and said he had to restrain himself from not saying " I'm Tabitha and I am taking over your salon"

KarynJune, thank you for reiterating EXACTLY what I said in different words. Both a white person and an African American person did a poor job on your hair, therefore it stands to reason that white and an African American could both do a good job. I dont think anyone needed to teach Tabitha how to braid hair, anyone can do a braid, to do a GOOD braid takes practice.
I understand that there are specialities in the beauty business, I just felt that race didn't need to be brought up during the episode. Its my opinion.

I would LOVE to learn how to do more african-american hair! In this industry in training they skim over everything...esp ethnic hair. I have always had to teach myself or seek out mentors in the field for me to really grasp a skill. I have utilized nail tech(who have been doing it for a lonnnnng time and also waxing specialist...they have taught me a ton. If I owned a salon I would want to employ african american stylist to do that clientele and to also help others learn so we could def offer those services with confidence. It is amazing to see what is happening in the hair weave/ext business and these girls(any guys) have brought it to the forefront. I thought it was wonderful when Tabatha did the braid thing...it looked pretty good. Way to go girl!

Just writing to point out something to LynnnChicago. There is a huge difference between learning something in school and day to day practice. While stylists learn on a wide variety of heads in school, in practice they may develop experience with one type of clientele, maybe expertise in cut, or color, straight rather than curly (if you don't think thats true, check out the show Split Ends). Tabatha may be an expert hair dresser but it was clear from the episode (remember when they taught her how to do braid extensions?) that she doesn't have experience in all the things Eclectic Salon handles. I don't think Stefon's comment was wrong. As someone with natural african american hair (i.e. no chemical straightener and no heat)I've had occassion to have my hair royally messed up by a) a young white girl who had one black client, and b) a young black girl who didn't know a thing about cutting afro hair. I thought it was extremely professional of Tabatha to bring in an expert to assist in the assessment.

In response to Cit's comments, What I was trying to get across is that it was an ignorant comment to think that Tabitha would walk into a salon, any salon if she wasn't able to handle working with the stylists and the clients.
Your sister obviously went into an unprofessional salon if they were nervous to handle an African American client. As you said, they learn to work on all types of hair in school, if they still can't do it, they should go get further training.
But to think that TABITHA wasn't able to handle African American hair is absurd! She is obviously professional, well trained, experienced and extremely talented - any one can see that. It doesn't necessarily take an African American stylist to work on African American hair.
However, I thought it was very thoughtful and considerate for the show to bring in an African American famous stylist to oversee the process.

Hi Tabitha: what great shows. As a viewer, it's a roller coaster ride. Whoever does the editing should get an award. I'm completely caught up in each episode. It grabs you right from the get go. Before you know it, you're in the emotional vortex right along with the stylists and you of course. Why? Because we've all been there. Hey, I'm an accountant and I keep thinking, jeez, that's been me many times along the way as a Controller. You go into a new company and you have to kick butt. You have a staff meeting and you realize right off the bat, it's the damn owners who lost their way, lost their will to lead, lost control of their companies. So, I go in and point out the filthy kitchen, the burned out light bulbs and before I know it I'm "Tabitha", hated, spit on. Then someone gets fired, someone quits, and then the survivors start to pay attention. Tabitha, you could literally go into any company and do what you're doing on these shows. This show is a wake up call !! and THANK YOU. Well done....

Tabitha is my bitch. No one else can have her. the British accent alone says it all. It's something about that British accent that commands attention and respect. For some reason, that accent can make you seem as if you are the most intelligent person in the world! she's sexy, confident, and Black is definately her color. I love her. she really seems to care about changing peoples lives and I commend her for it. keep the shows coming.

Running a business is not always warm and fuzzy, and many people are intimidated by your frankness and honesty. They need to get over themselves, as you are not there to make friends, you are there to save their businesses.

I wish you could come to the salon where I get my hair done. They can definately use your touch.

I thought this was a salon full of talent. I am just wondering, if you know that you are going to be on a nationally televised show, why not have a website put together before the show airs as way to drum up even more publicity and make it easier for people to seek you out?

Tabatha I love your show. I don't do salons anymore due to the unprofessionalism. I twist my own hair at home now. Unfortunately LynnfromChicago there are white stylists that do not know how to style "black" hair even though in beauty school they practice on all kinds of hair. Do a test and have a black person go in Supercuts and see if they want to service them. This happened to my sister who does not have a relaxer or weave and just wanted a haircut. The receptionist was so nervous my sister had to ask her if there was problem. There was one stylist in the back who came up front and wanted to cut her hair. The first thing out of her mouth was "it's so soft!" Like she was shocked. It wasn't offensive because at least she was willing to try. It may not be nice but it is an American fact of life for those that are honest. I challenge any white person to go into a black hair care salon, there will be more than one happy to serve them. I'm glad the producers did not edit that comment.

Tabatha, hats off to you for teaching a higher standard. Hard work, dedication and no excuses. I love that. Most of us are afraid to demand it because we live in a world where we want avoid hurting each other's feelings. This standard should apply to any business or lifestyle. We could use more unbiased people to come in and find the weaknesses and strengths in each of us. Let's face it. We all have them. The truth hurts at times but we need it to improve at anything we do. We get too much lip service and not enough constructive criticism. I caught this show while channel surfing last night. I can’t believe I watched 2 shows back to back. What really hook me is your ability to treat the problems and not the symptoms. Super show!

I love your show. I was disappointed when I missed this one. I use to be an assistant at Eclectic about 8 years ago. Things were so different then. I was very shocked to see how different it looked in the pictures. And very surpirsed to see that Andre still worked there. I was sad when I saw the clips of the show showing Jacqui so upset, she is a lovely person, and I'm glad things will begin to turn around for her. I wish her so much luck.

Tabatha, I love your show. I was so excited to see your 2nd Season was going to air. You are smart, straight to the point, and take no BS. Seeing your show its funny how some of these sylist have no respect for you. Here you are, the best of the best and they second guess you when you tell them something. (Wow, they really don't know any better do they?) Now the owners of these salons. I would never have put up with half the things i have seen with their sytlist. But its true you do see many of these salons like that dirty and not professional.. I live in Fayetteville NC. I still yet to find a good salon. I always wait to go back to California to my hair sytlist. I wish you the best and continue to have more seasons..

Tabitha, You have an amazing talent for immediately getting the the heart of the problems in these salons, I don't know how much initial research that you or your producers do but it doesn't seem to take you very long to figure out what the major issues are and then immediately come up with perfect solutions to the problems. Very impressive! Why does it seem as though there is always that ONE person in each salon that refuses to get with the program right off the bat? Is that real or staged because it is hard to believe that there is always only one.

Was just one disappointment in last nights show, WHY oh WHY does someone always need to bring up the "ethnic" issue? There is no reason why Tabitha wouldn't be able to make improvements on a salon that primarily services African American clients, I wish the producers would have cut out that one comment from the stylist who expressed his concerns over that. Obviously they were unfounded!

In any case, I think your show rocks and I too would LOVE to see your salon sometime in an episode. Keep on making over those salons, and those employees, it is really fun to watch! Love the show!

I watch your show and see so many young owners who have no idea what to do and how to gain respect and be stern. That is me. The more I watch the more I realize how badly I need you. Its hard to go from friends and co-workers to owner/empolyee relationships. You seem to be able to make people do things they never thought they could. It has been my experience that, in general, white hairstylists tend to shy away from black hair care. You, however, took advantage of an opportunity to practice something with which you had limited experience (the braiding). Your openness and desire to constantly learn - despite the expertise that you already possess - speak to who you are, as both a person and as a stylist. To be specific: you are exceptional. I appreciate your personality; your self-confidence, which lends itself so well to the ease with which you handle yourself in any situation; your approach to things; and your use of your experience, connections, resources, etc. to help others. You are fabulous all the way around, and I respect you to no end. I wish you happiness and much continued success!

Hi Tabatha, that stephon he is a character, Jacqui's situation was very emotional. I enjoyed the part where you were braiding the hair. And Lauren oh boy (LOL) How could anyone work in a salon and not have a clue on what the services are all about. But I'm glad jacqui decided to let her go. I wish jacqui and the rest of the staff all the best. Props to you Tabatha looking forward to the next episode.

I have been watching your show old ones and new. I will definitly take some advice from you. I would love to know how to apply for you to come to the salon that i work at. I have been there 7years and some changes need to be done. Please help need much needed advice.
