Hello Again!
Ahh fashion week in NYC, where each year the stilettos get higher and more fights break out over duplicate outfits. And of course, the designer clothes are consistently gorgeous.
When Kelli told me about her new image and name I was just trying to make light of the situation, especially her stylist’s recommendation to put an explanation point after her name! I think Kelli is great the way she is; she doesn’t need an exclamation point after her name to put an exclamation point on her singing career.
Clearly Kelli knows more about the singing world than I ever will but I sense what she’s really trying to do is find her own singing identity then build her image around that. Kudos to Kelli, I’m in her corner all the way but as her friend I don’t want to see her get so wrapped up in building an image that she forgets who she really is. Once Kelli finds her singing identity her natural image will follow.
My interaction with Kelli and her mom pretty much defined my cameo appearance in this episode except for the short segment of my mom and me at the hair salon. Now I know for sure why cameras should be outlawed at salons as it was not exactly my most attractive moment lol.
Next episode, Kelli and I reverse roles; she supports me as I’m Harvard bound!
I cant tand her camille keep up the good work
It seemed that you were jealous of Kelli's singing career and thought bringing her to Harvard might make her jealous of you. And when she didn't really care you got mad and said she thinks its a joke. It's just an assumption I just thought you should know that if it is true, everyone can see right through it.
Camille, Good job on staying composed and classy the whole seasone. I loved you giving it to Jessie with the Operation Smile founders. It was so true that she made it all about herself and was not allowing others, mainly you, to share in the charity participation. I also loved that she fell and that BRAVO actually showed it. She deserved that also.
Lets face it, the tour guide was mean and elitist, but that is what you want out of Harvard, to be elite. Be honest with yourself. So if she (tour guide) seems caught up in the exclusivity of it all, think ahead a few years to when you will be doing the same thing to someone who is dying to get in to YOUR "Hallowed Halls." How were you taught about Harvard by your parents and friends? That it was a "friendly" school that everyone was welcome to attend? No. You were taught the only the best of the best go there, or the ones who can afford it and have connections. While there, you are competing against each other to go to the next level. It is cutthroat and you should not be put off by that if that is what you TRULY want. By the way, have fun, date some more or you will be shriveled and stressed by the time you finish achieving your career objectives. Work Hard, Party Hard. ( no drugs)
As far as Kelly goes, be supportive, she will have enough people tearing her down in this industry. I love her style now and agree that she does not need to change it, right now she needs to build her voice and maybe write some songs. But when she is in front of industry people, they are ALL looking for the next look or edge that can capture an audience, so she IS getting good advice. They want the Total Package, not someone they have to work on. Badiene is good at what she does and will get her in front of the right people, but she doesn't want to bring an unschooled teenager into their midst, she wants to prepare her for EVERYTHING she will need to know and do. Kelly will be a reflection on her coach, so the coach has a stake in what she is putting out there too.
i saw the episode when you toured harvard and i thought your tour guide was crazy and should be fired. love the show
i THINK THAT JESSIE WANT PC FOR MORE THAN JUST A FRIEND AND SHE PRETEND THAT SHE DOES BECAUSE SHE KNOW HE DOES NOT WANT HER LIKE THAT. i THINK TAYLOR SHOULD STUDY MORE BUT WHEN SHE GETS HER GRADES UP AND GET A LITTLE OLDER LIKE 17 OR 18 MAYBE PC WILL BE3 ALMOST OUT OF COLLEGE BY THEN AND THEY CAN DATE BECAUSE THEY WOULD MAKE A GREAT COUPLE.

I think it was really nice of camille to support her as a friend!!!
Camille, I'll probably duplicate this post if you blog about Harvard, in hopes that you see this. I just saw the episode at Harvard and I thought some of the treatment you endured was just appalling. I am a graduate of Harvard College, and I wanted you to know that what you experienced was not representative of my alma mater. My experience is not entirely recent, as I graduated some years ago, but I feel that the college is slow to change its general character.
I used to watch the Paper Chase when I was really young, and I always dreamed of going to Harvard. I'm a risk-taker, and I believe that I applied to only two colleges: Harvard and MIT. While I was psyched about MIT too (fantastic school), before I applied I had heard that MIT students could cross-register at Harvard. Clearly, I had my heart set on being Crimson. Heck, even my wife is a graduate of Harvard College. I even bleed in Crimson.
:-)
Feel free to contact me. I'll be happy to talk with you about the college, and my own experience with the admissions process. If you are unfamiliar with Boston, I'll be happy to tell you about the city.
I'm willing to chat via email, phone, or in person (if you end up back in the Boston metro area). If you've found out all you care to know about Harvard and Boston, then I wish you only the best of luck. Otherwise, I'll be happy to be a friend and a resource.
Go Crimson!
Cheers,
Lee Valentine
Camille,
I just got done watching the new episode of NYC Prep with you taking your tour of harvard and can i say that tour lady was really rude i mean there had to of been something wrong with her because she doesnt even know you and how dedicated you are to getting into harvard. I also know your worried about your Kelli loosing herself in the process of her singing career but shes going to be the same they just want to bring more of herself out not completely change her. Luv ya.
Abbie
Camille,
I find it funny how PC is constantly putting you and Kelli down for your age. It is obvious to everyone you two are brighter, more mature and charming. I really do not need to say any cruel comments about him, he has done a great job showing who he really is on his own. Stick to your standards and and strong character and success will be yours. Don't forget to breath sometimes and enjoy the good things.
first off, you are stunning. I hope you know that.
secondly, drive is awesome but just don't lose sight of what really matters in life, k? love, friends, family. enjoy your youth. :)
Camille,
You've got drive, and great expectations for yourself in the future. I hope you get accepted to Harvard, not just because it's your dream school, but because you belong there. It's not often you see kids our age (I'm 18 and attending community college unfortunately). But I just hope you never lose touch with your youth like a lot of these NYC Prep kids do. Live your life happily, and try to have the best time you can.
Thxx 4 posting my comment camille heart u!!!!
Ciao!

Camille-
I am so with you on the idea that Kelli should not get caught up in singing. Don't get me wrong-Kelli is amazing, I just think that she should get a good education first, then think about singing.
As for the 'stylist' part, I am half and half. Kelli is a little young to be thinking about stuff like that, but if her parents are willing to spend thousands of money on something like that, let them do it.
Congratulations on the perseverance to Harvard!! If tha's what you love, go for it! No one is stopping you. Just remember- don't become obsessed with Harvard just because of the name- Make sure you love almost every aspect of it. What would you rather- Go to a big name school like Harvard and be miserable, or go to a lower key school and love it? Just make sure you answer that question honestly before you get decked out and your mind set on Harvard.
Remember, there is a 9% acceptance rate. That is not a high number. Now, don't take that the wrong way. I know you are an amazing student, but so are other people in the world. I just don't want you to get your heart crushed because you didn't get in.
Thanks for reading this!!! ~Kelli (Not the Kelli on the show, Kelli from NJ)
I like you Camille. I think you've been sincere to your friend, Kelly. I do not think you are jealous of anybody. You have a standard and you are following it through. It is unbeatable. I like Kelly too, she does have beautiful voice.
Wish you the best!
You are a quirky character to watch.
Fun to watch as you are too young to catch on that you really need to edit your interaction with others.
Don't blame Jesse for the interview gone wrong. You tanked that interview all on your own.
Never say or try to insinuate you are smarter or better educated then another person you are not trying to make angry. It was funny to watch, as it was like you said of taylor and sebastian, "like watching a accident happen".
You proved to her, you were not really interested in the position by your actions and perhaps did not have the people skills needed to not offend others within the organization.
You seemed a bit jealous of your friends singing ambitions, your competitive nature could not handle it.
You had a stylist go through your closet on camera.... but kelly..... who wants to be a public idol should be ridiculed?
I am sure you will see your actions with others in a whole new light after the full airing of the shows this season.
Hey Camille!
U r soo pretty and u totally deserve 2 get in2 Harvard 4 all of ur hard work! Also,u r soo lucky 2 b able 2 go 2 Fashion Week! I've always dreamed of it!

I grew up in the south, but moved to NYC for high school and I will tell you there is a real culture shock coming here! Friends are far more direct here, and absolutely tell you you look awful: "Whats that rag on your head?" in NYC is the same as "oh, cute hat" in Georgia. It takes a while here to get used to the direct and nasty comments, but you're just supposed to take it and toss it back. I guess that's how you prove you are cool. But I thought I'd provide a general translation for viewers back in the south.
didn't you have a stylist in an earlier episode, Camille? don't hate on Kelli! I do respect about what your saying in your blog about your support and love towards Kelli though
i think that ur ok and everthing but i think u jus kinda seem like u better then everyone its cool that u smart but u dont gotta rub it in ppls noses
I think that you need to slow down and take like one day at a time . Some of the comments that you make are way out there and should not be said to a friend from a friend.
ahem.............I believe you meant "exclamation point"
Just be sure to take time to enjoy your teen years while you can. Take it from someone who knows.
i dont know why its such a big deal about the whole stylist thing to be big you need to look good.. i know your behind her 85% but to be in the MusicBiz you need to stand out!!!
I really think Kelli is pretty and Taylor is absolutely adorable! COLE IS HOT TOO!!! Kelli and Taylor are definitely my favorites on the show!!
Camille I would not be surprised to hear that you are burnt out by the time you are 30. You are the proverbial over achiever. Slow down you are a teen. These are the best years of your life it should not be compacted by pressure. You might regret it one day.
Camille,
It's nice to see that at least one of the kids of NYC Prep has a good head on their shoulders. You have your goals already set to what you plan on doing with your life. Kelli, should be indeed careful with not turning to the mess that most younger singers turn into, caused by the desperation of gaining popularity. I think the concerns you expressed towards Kelli's changes, were just a reaction that a good friend would have. Anyone that considers your comments dumb or unfriendly they are the ones in denial since they don't know what a "true" friend is, which in this day in age there isn't too many. Good luck with Harvard, I am pretty sure you will do great in school.
I think you are very funny. If you can't say what you feel to your friends then what kind of friendship would that be. I think your great and you have great friends.
Have fun at Harvard I know you will get in :)
Camille, I am like you in so many ways! I want to attend an Ivy League School, I love the city vibe, and am constantly wearing headbands w/ a side bow or feather. lol :) i love to watch you on the show, so I thought I'd chime in a little comment. Keep up the good work in school and your social life!~
You can be very judgemental sometimes and I hope Kelli doesn't think you are a true friend because you are not.
That's really nice what you said about Kelli and GOOD LUCK on Harvard!!
p.s. Why is Sebastien on the show? He doesnt really do anything.
You are definitely the ONLY one on the show with any sense at all! You go girl!
Camille,
(IMO) You are doing a great job in your life. Keep up the good work. I hope you get into Harvard. You deserve it.
love you camille!
your one of my favorites!
The word Stylist is not a dirty word! The Music Biz is alot more than singing. I should know my husbend has been in it for over 30 years. You are young and should read up before jumping all over your friends advisors. When infact she is getting good advice.
Being on stage you must stand out to be heard!!!!!!
Camille you're definitely my favorite on the show!
